Lifting a handstand is almost the best way to hold one as there is less to put you off balance. But it requires a lot of knowledge and technique, which Bendy will share with you in this class. Advanced One Arm Handstands (Ulrik Ask Fossen)
Prereqs: Consistent 10 sec straddle one arm for both arms, on blocks or floor
Straddle one arm is a door you just opened. Let’s see how deep the rabbit hole goes, or at least how deep YOU can get.
We will explore what comes after a consistent straddle one arm hold, how to increase your work capacity and develop you from a person who can do a one arm handstand, to a handbalancer. You will get an impression of how to train for harder basics and a start of more advanced shapes like figas and flags.
WARNING: You will get ridiculed for your “I am just not flexible”, “my left arm is just so much more difficult…”, “my shoulders are dead, I will just fall…” and other excuses you thought were valid, that holds you back from achieving excellence. If this bothers you, you are likely one of those who did a 10 sec the one time you didn’t film and nobody saw back in 2023 that you haven’t been able to replicate and you are not really keen on moving forward or to join this workshop.
Introduction to One Arm (Ulrik Ask Fossen)
Prereqs:
1min straight,
20 sec tuck hold, knees deeper than hip.
5 reps straight-tuck.
You have figured out how to do all the basic stuff on two arms. You are consistent, it’s not that heavy anymore and you want to move forward. Welcome to being a beginner for the next stage of handstand mastery: Intro to one arm.
We will go through two arm basics to find weaknesses that you should continue to develop. Then introduce the starting point of one arm handstand practice. There will be regressions and progressions of sidebends and fingertip support. We will go through how to use the wall properly and why most people mess this up and therefore choose not to use it as much as they should. You will get a reality check of what it takes to stand on one arm so you can choose to pursue it or move on with your life, instead of being in limboland with half assed efforts and enthusiasm, followed by disappointment and ashamed parents.
Handstands 101 (Ulrik Ask Fossen)
Prereqs; Wanting to do handstands. Bonus with some experience.
So you want to get into the fine art of staring at the floor without feet touching it? Look no further! This workshop is for you.
Content of the workshop: The goal of this workshop is to teach you what and how you need to do to get yourself into and hold a freestanding straight handstand. We will talk about the relevant concepts such as alignment, how to use the wall well, what form cues to focus on, how to approach balance and what mistakes that are okay, and which to avoid. We will also go through relevant shoulder and wrist mobility and strengthening.
Block Party (Ulrik Ask Fossen)

30 second handstand
15 second tuck hold knees deeper than hips

In this workshop we will talk about why blocks is “a thing” in handstands. We will talk about why blocks usually are difficult on two arms, but easier on one arm then floor, and do variations of drills to keep your one arm drilling interesting. We might also touch upon blocks taller friends: Canes if there’s time and interest.

No gatekeeping. No “advanced-only” culture. Just progression through intelligent movement and community.
Training in mixed-level environments creates something different — beginners see what consistency can build, while advanced practitioners are reminded that true mastery lives in the basics. The cleanest flow always comes from strong foundations.

If we have loops, we will use hip rolling as a way to learn the dynamic shift from a front to a back C and learn these statically, before using the same concept during the spin. If we don’t have loops we will do the waist rolling over wrist straps. The last part of the class will focus on fast transitions between the C-shapes in swings and generating momentum to create space for tricks at the height of the swing.

Myofascial release to calm the nervous system and ease physical tension.
Myofascial tissue (fascia) is a connective-tissue network that runs throughout the body, surrounding and supporting skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, organs, and bones.
You’ll be guided to sense your body and make contact with your internal systems, using breath and gentle “sinking in” movements to explore and create space, followed by hands-on myofascial release techniques you can practise on yourself or with a partner.
The Art of Rope Flow (Angus Martin)
Prereqs: None
Figure Out the Rope basics. Learn the fundamentals of Rope Flow by understanding balance and biotensegrity (coil and spring the body).
Uncover moves like overhand figure of 8, underhand figure of 8, dragon roll & basic footwork.
Learn how to use your Flexibility [Theory] (Isaac Lucksted)
Prereqs: None
Have you been making progress in your flexibility training, but found that it’s not carrying over to your movement practice? Often what’s lacking is an effective bridge to really integrate your new range into your practice. This workshop addresses the missing link: how to train flexibility so it integrates with the rest of what you do, and how to actively express new range rather than only passively access it.
Sauna: Contrast Therapy (hosted at Sivo Wellness)
Prereqs:
Arrive Prepared (Hydration + Intent), bring a towel & swimwear
Respect the Ritual of the Sauna
Have an open mindset for contrast therapy (hot & cold)
A self-guided sauna workshop at Sivo is a structured yet deeply personal ritual combining heat, cold exposure, and intentional rest. Participants cycle between sauna and cold immersion, while being gently guided through breathwork, stillness, or reflection prompts.
The session is designed to:
Down-regulate the nervous system
Create space for mental clarity
Foster quiet connection with self and others
Rather than a class to “perform,” it’s an invitation to slow down, reset, and share a simple but powerful human experience.
Recommended Sivo Flow (Rinse – Hot – Cold – Rest)
Have a shower before sauna
Sit on a towel in the sauna
Get warm (usually 5-15 mins)
Get cold – have a plunge (rinse first if using an ice bath)
Rest – allow your body to reach equilibrium
Repeat
